Summary of Changes from Previous Version

Scheduled review of the Guideline. Changes are administrative in nature to reflect current processes and improve clarity. Specific changes are:

• Stipulation that room signage issued by BR must be provided as part of the ethics application process as evidence that the location is suitable for the intended holding of laboratory animals. This may occur before or after ethics approval has been received. – Clauses 9 and 12

• Clarification that BR supports inspections of laboratory spaces and doesn’t strictly coordinate or facilitates this process. – Clauses 10 and 11

• Clarification that investigators should review laboratory spaces on an annual basis or after changes, rather than BR staff. – Clause 14

• Simplification of the definition of ‘Investigator’. – Definitions table • Addition of Zebrafish to the Guideline’s scope. – Definitions table
